Service Description

Curriculum: “The Elements and Principles of Art and Design” Objective: >Each Child will be introduced to the elements/ principles of art and how to incorporate them into their artwork. (Elements of Art are: Line, space, texture, form, value, color) (Principles of Art are: Pattern, Rhythm/ Movement, Proportion/ Scale, Unity, Emphases and Balance) >While learning the elements of art the child will also learn various techniques on using different mediums and forms of art. (Printmaking, collage, drawing, painting, sculpture, etc…) (Pointillism, cubism, abstract, pop art, etc) >Each child will be exposed to different artists; well known, not known by many, artists of color, Haitian artists and contemporary artists of today. >Each child needs a sketch book to practice in. They will lay out each project in their sketchbooks. >Each child will be able to articulate their process of how they completed their artwork by using the art vocabulary taught to them. >Each child will participate in critiques and learn the art of constructive criticism. >Each child will have the opportunity to display their art in a showcase. >Each child will be encouraged to participate in contests world wide. *Projects may vary due to age and skill set.*
